Step 1 - Before you begin

Connect on one subnet using an ethernet switch (not supplied). Avoid IP conflicts.

Step 2 - Configure gateway

Open the operator HMI in your browser (Machine / Ethernet 1):

http://<gateway-ip>:8080/dwview/

Replace <gateway-ip> with the Machine IP. The factory default is 192.168.1.123 (use this on first connection unless the IP was already changed).

DataPulse Connect (HTTPS API on port 8443) is separate - typically on Ethernet 2. Trust the Adams root CA for Connect clients; see User Manual section 9.6 TLS Mode on the Resources tab.

  • Only eng opens Setup.
  • Manage Cameras: New, enter name + IP, Add.
  • Optional: Network Configuration to change gateway IP.

Step 3 - Set camera time

In Cognex ISE or ISVS:

  • Set time zone to UTC.
  • Point time sync at the DataPulse gateway IP.
  • Save settings.
  • Power cycle the camera.

Required for reliable image transfer. See the Cognex Integration guide on Resources.

Step 4 - Download snippet

  • Open Resources.
  • Select Cognex Snippets.
  • Choose software + camera model.
  • Download the snippet file.

Step 5 - Load snippet

  • Import or drag the snippet to column A, first empty row below your job logic.
  • The DataPulse connector will appear on the spreadsheet.
  • Complete fields A-F when status shows Not Ready.

  • Save the job, go online, and trigger the camera.
  • In DataPulse Browse, verify the new inspection record is listed.

Inspection data always transfers. Only enabled images (good and/or bad) are transferred.
